Connie Carringer

Many Talents. Many Interests.

One of a Kind.

Writing has always been an important part of Connie's personal and professional life. She enjoys reading and writing poetry, dabbling in story writing, and, most recently, has published a book for children about her daughter's journey with Type 1 Diabetes called The Best Type of Friend.

Connie has been working in the corporate business world in the US and internationally for over a decade and has experience supporting businesses of every size and scope in a variety of industries. Her passion is in creating meaning, efficient, and effective systems for bookkeeping, cash flow management, financial projections, project budgets, and employee programs that are tailored to the needs of each individual business.

Connie has always loved growing things and grew up enjoying her grandparents' abundant gardens. Like many others, the pandemic gave her the opportunity to grow her own home garden. As she learned through experience and connected to others, she saw the need for community support as more people became interested in having gardens at home. Her answer was to create the Apex/Cary Gardeners Plant and Seed Swap: a monthly meeting of every level of gardener to gather and share their extra seeds, seedlings, house plants, veggies, garden gear, books, ideas and more.

As a dance caller, Connie is known for being community-centered, beginner-caring, and able to bring a whole roomful of dancers of all skill levels quickly into the fun zone. As a teacher and facilitator, Connie strives to create a safe space for creativity, expression, and learning. Becoming a parent and then a global pandemic greatly reduced opportunities for safe community dancing, but Connie hopes to see you on a dance floor again someday. Perhaps you will see her at the Apex Family Dance or enjoy one of her Dance Compositions at your local Contra Dance event.

Connie lives in Apex, NC close to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill and will gladly travel regionally for wedding gigs. She loves offering wedding officiant services, especially to non-religious, queer or non-binary, or other extraordinary couples.
